Became obsessed with statue “he labored long and devotedly on the statue” Even in his hatred of women, he works on the statue constantly Creates this unnaturally beautiful woman “No woman ever born, no statue ever made, could approach it” He falls in love Pygmalion

Pygmalion is madly in love with his statue He treats it as you would any significant other except that his love is not alive He dresses the statue in robes, brings it gifts and flowers, kisses it, tucks it in bed at night He eventually gives up The statue
