PLANNING FOR SUCCESS Map out a plan for Grade 10 to 12 on Educational Planner sheet 2 compulsory credits have been filled in; you decide what level to take them at 6 optional credits need to be selected by you Choose 8 courses total Make sure you are planning for your post secondary destination (apprenticeship, college, university, workplace)

International Baccalaureate IB codes end with the letter ‘B’ Students must be registered in the IB Program to be enrolled in an IB course In-catchment students can take stand alone IB courses beginning September 2015 Students can register as Certificate Students taking IB Courses from a minimum of 3 areas plus TOK See school website under Student Services and International Baccalaureate or see Mr. Kevin Clark

PATHWAYS College courses–lead to C (college), or M (college/university) level courses in Grade 12 University–leads to M(college/university) or U (university) level courses in Grade 12

SHSM PROGRAMS Grade 11 and 12 program Earn certifications and training within program. Speak to a teacher in Visual Arts or Technology Arts and Culture 8 credit package including 4 Arts courses Construction 10 credit package including 4 Construction courses

CO-OP OPTIONS 2 credit (half day) COO3OE 4 credit (full day) COOFT1 or COOFT2 110 hours/credit required Requires application and interview System Placements Some competitive, board-wide placements Police, Cable 14, Hospitals Require interview and additional application System Programs Limeridge Co-op, Healthcare Support Program, Building from the Ground up, Militia Require interview and additional application

Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program OYAP Train as a registered apprentice while enrolled in high school Start your chosen career On the job training For students who like to learn by doing Over 130 careers Early childhood educator, chef, carpenter, electrician, hairstylist etc See a cooperative education teacher

Online Course Selection Students will enter their courses from home with their own user name and password Online entry closes Feb. 25

Option Sheet Entry Step 1: Log into your career cruising account via the Hub - Go to home.hwdsb.on.ca and click on the Hub linkhome.hwdsb.on.ca o Log in using your school connect account information Once in the HUB click on CC (career cruising) in the tool bar o you may need to sync your account by entering your career cruising username and password (this only needs to be done once )
