4. Example of a solid argument According to the Department of Energy, the USA produces 20% of our electricity from nuclear power plants as of 2005. If we were to double that output and replace coal burning power plants with nuclear power plants, we would reduce our carbon emissions by 12 tons per year. From this, we can see that nuclear energy is better for the environment than coal.

5. Example of a weak argument I think the USA should double our nuclear power plants because then we would be releasing less CO 2 into the atmosphere.
