2. Youth Fibonacci was born in 1170. His mother died when he was very young. His real name was Leonardo Pisano Bogollo. He was also known as Leonardo of Pisa,Leonardo Pisano, Leonardo Bonacci,Leonardo Fibonacci and Fibonacci.

3. Life Before Fame Worked as a merchant with his father. Was a very successful and wealthy merchant. Studied numbers from around the world such as Roman, Hindu Arabic and European.

4. Discoveries Invented the Fibonacci triangle. Invented the Fibonacci numbers. Wrote the book Liber Abaci that introduced ‘the numbers of the Indians’ that the Arabic use as their number system.

8. Death Fibonacci died in 1250. He died of a unknown cause. He remains buried in Compo Santo at Pisa, Italy.
