Robert Thirsk is part of the Comprehensive School Health Initiative which promotes the building of a healthy school community The purpose of the initiative is to align the Pillars of Comprehensive School Health with the Principles of High School Redesign. The goal of the W Project is to: Teach students about positive health and wellness Create a supportive social and physical school environment Implement healthy school policies Develop strong partnerships and services within our school and community Embed the CALM Outcomes Our next steps…

10 W Project Students in all grades will have an opportunity to participate in The W Project during: Connect time Focus block applicable subject areas specific wellness related events Each student will be encouraged to expand their attitudes, skills, and knowledge of self/social awareness, responsible decision- making, healthy relationships and self-management as it relates to health and wellness.

As the W Project evolves, it has become a student driven model in which all of the components are delivered in a more authentic and trans-diciplinary approach to learning. All students will have the opportunity to realize their full potential as a learner and become healthy productive members of their school and community. 11
