Tell Me Everything You Can About The Graph Below
2
ANSWER The range depends on what the domain of the function is, there are three parts to this function, when x 2.
3
Up to now, we’ve been looking at functions represented by a single equation like g(p) = 3p + 6 In real life, however, functions can be represented by a combination of equations, each corresponding to a part of the domain. These are called step-functions or piecewise functions.

9
One equation gives the value of f(x) when x ≤ 1 And the other when x > 1 Piece-wise Functions
10
We want to evaluate each part of the function because they will form different lines on the graph. Piece-wise Functions
11
So for 2x – 1 lets use 0 and 1 since those numbers can be part of the domain. 2(0) – 1 = -1& 2(1) – 1 = 1 We will plot (0,-1) & (1, 1) Piece-wise Functions
12
So for 3x +1 lets use 2 and 3 since those numbers can be part of the domain. 3(2) + 1 = 7& 3(3) + 1 = 10 We will plot (2, 7) & (3, 10) Piece-wise Functions
