2 Improving Behavior Boyd K. Packer “True doctrine, understood, changes attitudes and behavior. The study of the doctrines will improve behavior quicker than a study of behavior will improve behavior.”

3 We Must Raise Our Sights Elder Henry B. Eyring “The pure gospel of Jesus Christ must go down into the hearts of students by the power of the Holy Ghost. It will not be enough for them to have had a spiritual witness of the truth and to want good things later. It will not be enough for them to hope for some future cleansing and strengthening. 4 Definition of a Principle: A short statement of truth that when applied helps us make good decisions. That part of doctrine which teaches us “how to act” is called Principle.

5 Doctrine Verses Principle: …if it had not been for his matchless power, and his mercy, and his longsuffering, toward us, we should unavoidably have been cut off… … in as much as ye shall keep my commandments, ye shall prosper in the land… …if it had not been for his matchless power, and his mercy, and his longsuffering, toward us, we should unavoidably have been cut off… … in as much as ye shall keep my commandments, ye shall prosper in the land… Doctrine: Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. Doctrine: Alma 9:11 - Principle: Alma 9:13 - Principle: If we repent, then we will be save by Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.
