1 Reflective Commentary Unit 4: Outcome 1

2 Assessment criteria CriteriaDescriptionWhat this means 1Analysis of the features of the original text Providing an overview of the original text which identifies key genre features and literary features, as well as relevant themes and purpose 2Establishment of relationship between the student’s response and the original text Explaining how your text is a response to the original text: what have you emulated and/or engaged with? How is your purpose/context similar/different? 3Demonstration of insight into the process of producing a creative response Reflecting on the process of this task: what decisions did you have to make? What difficulties did you encounter? What did you learn about yourself, the text and/or being a writer? 4Expressive and coherent development of ideas There is no set ‘structure’ for this section, however it must unfold logically for the reader and be carefully proofread. First person is appropriate.
