Division is mainly taught in two ways - short division and chunking.
An example of short division is 2645 ÷ 5

First 5 goes into 2 zero times with 2 remainders so write 0 above the 2 and carry 2
across to the next number (which becomes 26 in this case)

5 goes into 26 five times with 1 left over

Then repeat the process

3. Chunking
This a popular method taught in many primary schools. It involves taking easy multiples out of a number.
E.g ÷ 1 5.

(20 x 15)

(2 x 15)

To find the answer, the numbers which have been multiplied by 15 are added together.
