1. Creating a Kerberos ID  Go to https://websec.it.siu.edu/util/id_request.html to create your kerberos IDhttps://websec.it.siu.edu/util/id_request.html  A window as shown below appears.

2.  Enter the information in the fields  The SIU Student/Staff # is your Social Security Number  The Pin is the day and the last 2 digits of the year of your birth.  Enter your desired Id for email in the Kerberos ID field

3.  Your ID be available only after an hour. You can check it by logging into Webmail.  Go to https://webmail.siu.edu. Enter your Kerberos ID and Password which is usually the last 4 digits of your SSN and your Pin numberhttps://webmail.siu.edu  You can change the password in www.infotech.siu.edu.www.infotech.siu.edu  You can log on to the SIU 56K connection with your Kerberos ID after midnight on the day it was created and the password was changed

4.  To create a dial up connection,to connect to the internet through your Kerberos ID, follow the tutorials in http://www.infotech.siu.edu/csc/howto/windows/winxpdun.html http://www.infotech.siu.edu/csc/howto/windows/winxpdun.html  The phone number you need to dial up to connect is 618.453.2888
