The History of Video Games A power point project by Hunter Stobbe

William Higinbotham-1958 In 1958 a game called “Tennis for Two” was created. “Tennis for Two” used two separate controllers that would have to be connected to an analog computer which used oscilloscope for a screen. William Higinbotham was the man who created this game. He was a nuclear physicist.

Steve Russell-1962 In 1962, Steve Russell created a game called “SpaceWar!” It was the very first game used by a computer. To design his game he has used a mainframe computer.

Ralph Baer-1967 Ralph Baer was the first person to ever create a video game that was made to play on the T.V. The game he had created was called “Chase”.

Nolan Bushnell-1971 Along with his partner Ted Dabney, Nolan Bushnell created the first ever arcade video game. The game they had created together was called “Computer Space”. The idea was based on Steve Russell’s game “SpaceWar!”

Fairchild-1976 The first ever programmable home game console It was later named “Channel F” First one to use the newly invented microchip

Bibliography To get the information I used Google, and then put it into my own words. To get the pictures I went on Google images, and typed in “old video games” and I picked the oldest video game that they put on there.

The end I hope you liked my assignment on “The History of Video Games”. I had fun working on it, and learned a lot about Video Games.
