Filling out the Checklist Worksheet: 1. Two year or Four year? Is your choice a school that requires two years in order to graduate, or a traditional university that takes typically four years to graduate? 2. Public or Private? Public colleges are usually larger and less expensive than private colleges. Public: Southeastern, LSU, Southern University, University of New Orleans, etc. Private: Our Lady of Holy Cross College, Tulane University, Howard University 3. Student Population? College sizes vary greatly. If you don’t know the size, try to look it up or guess. Smaller colleges are more personal; larger colleges offer more majors and programs 4. In State or Out-of State? Is the school located in Louisiana? Where it it? 5. University website: Find the OFFICIAL school website. Hint: it will most likely have “.edu” at the end of it (Example: www.lsu.edu; www.harvard.edu; www2.howard.edu)
