Benefits for students Students can work with their personal tutors to: Access their grades and feedback quickly* 3, 7. Easily see grading criteria/rubrics (where available)* 2. Compare feedback across assessments to find commonalities* 9. Reflect on how to improve in future assessments* 10. *https://www.ucl.ac.uk/teaching-learning/pdfs/NUS-assessment-and-feedback-benchmarking-tool.pdf

Benefits for module tutors Tutors can see feedback and grades for courses they teach to: check students’ progress. identify those who need extra support. check students have acted upon previous feedback. see when students view their feedback. space assessments across the term *4. *https://www.ucl.ac.uk/teaching-learning/pdfs/NUS-assessment-and-feedback-benchmarking-tool.pdf

My Feedback Report project One stream of a wider integration programme. Pilot in UCL Moodle started in October 2015 with ~750 students. Further development ongoing during pilot. Full rollout across UCL expected in 2016. Project Team: Project Manager Business Analyst Technical Lead Moodle developer Business Advisor

What do students say? https://moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=report_myfeedback From 752 students we have only had 34 responses to our survey so far, but it is still open so we hope to get more. 8 students from a range of departments provided written feedback.

What do students say? https://moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=report_myfeedback Still difficult to find feedback (2). Some problems with different dates shown in report compared to Moodle (1) – Nb. fixed. “The class mean could at times be encouraging but also demotivating” (1). Probably wouldn’t use action plan or self-reflecting notes (2), as I concentrate my time on the course material (1).

What students asked for? https://moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=report_myfeedback More feedback (3). See grades straight away (2). Previous years feedback & class mean (1). Notification when feedback is given (1). A way to more easily inform staff if quizzes contain mistakes in the correct answer/feedback (1).

Thoughts on the student’s comments so far https://moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=report_myfeedback There is a risk the report simply highlights a lack of feedback, at least in electronic form. Students seem confused about whether the report is malfunctioning, or they really have little to no feedback. Reminders for feedback using the Moodle event monitoring system (turned off due to potential performance issues).event monitoring system

New features: Current and past year’s feedback. Summative and formative assessments. Performance score (relative to class mean). Programme administrators view: Full overview of department’s students. Assessment Calendar to enable assessments to be spaced out. UCL wide rollout.
