Contour Lines A contour is the line which defines a form or edge - an outline. The contour describes the outermost edges of a form or shape. No need to worry about any kind of shading at all. CONTOUR DRAWING

Contour Lines Contour lines can be used to show changes of plane within the object or form (like the inner seams within the structure of a shoe). Contour line is a division between form and the space a subject occupies. CONTOUR DRAWING

Contour Lines The purpose of contour drawing is to emphasize the mass and volume of the subject rather than the detail. Contour lines convey three- dimensional perspective, length, width, thickness and depth. CONTOUR DRAWING

Homework Line Exercises A) Parallel Lines: Spider web / broken glass; large newsprint. B) Doodle Exercises: pages 1-6 Draw one upside down drawing from a photograph, fill the whole page. CONTOUR DRAWING
