3 RELIGION The main religion in Scotland is “The Church of Scotland” which is similar to Presbyterian and Evangelical The second highest form of religion is “The Scottish Episcopal Church” The people of Scotland are religiously open and free to practice whatever form of religion they wish

5 MUSIC AND DANCING In Scotland, they play the bagpipes They began playing this musical instrument during war times as a way to frighten their enemy, now they play it for fun

7 SPORTS One sport they play in Scotland is called “tossing the caber” They also play “hammer throw” Rugby and soccer are also important sports as well as shinty, curling, and gold

8 HOLIDAYS AND TRADITIONS A holiday celebrated by all in Scotland is what is called the ceilidh (which translates into “visit” in which people get together to tell stories, eat, and dance Sports are also played at these celebrations Another holiday is called “Burn’s Supper” which was created to honor the famous poet who was born in Scotland: Robert Burns

9 FOOD Some food specifically from Scotland include the haggis, cock-a-leekie, Angus beef, porridge, stovies, shortbreads, scones, cheese, toffee, and food made from game like bird and deer Scotland is also famous for its whiskey which is one of its most sought after exports
