TOOLS AND MATERIALS To make Chinese Knotting craft / ornaments, we need some chinese knotting cords. They are available in many various colors and sizes. Chinese knotting cords are shiny and have beautiful colors; we can easily tie them to form wonderful knots. There are some tools needed to make this Chinese traditional handicraft: scissors, flier, pins, cork board (or any board to hold the pins), lighter (to burn and seal the end of the cords). Additional accessories such as beads are also great to make this chinese knot craft more beautiful. Methods: 1. Provide some chinese knotting cords or satin cords 2. Use a board that pins can stick on (cork / styrofoam board or corrugated paper) 3. Use the pins to keep the Chinese knotting pattern in position 4. Sometimes we have to cut and burn the cord end or glue the cord end.

It looks like two overlapping Chinese coins which are round with a square hole in the center. This kind of knot can be used to make many various pattern. Try to make double coin knot with different colored cords to create wonderful pattern.
