The Amazing life of a Giraffe!

General Information! The group of vertebrates my animal falls into is Mammals. The Scientific name for a Giraffe is Giraffa camelopardlis. The life span of a Giraffe is year old.

Physical Characteristics!
The neck is brown and tan. On the head it is mostly white, but has some tan and brown. The rest of its body is tan, brown, and white. The average height of the if they are a male is feet, and if they are a female it is feet tall. Giraffes are covered in hair. Their unique body part is their tongue because it is up to 18 inches long. Its tongue is also bright blue.

Habitat! The giraffes live in a lot of habitats for instance South of the Sahara, although it avoids true deserts, decent rain forests, marshes and boggy ground. The climate is Tropical in some places and hot in others.

Behaviors! The diet of a Giraffe is tree leaves, shrubs, and grasses.
Well Giraffes have to find a tree they can reach and eat from. Giraffes give birth to live young because they are in the mammals group. They can only have 1 baby at a time; live birth of twins is very rare.

Interesting Facts! A giraffe is able to clean its own ear with their own tongue. A baby giraffe is about 6 feet tall at BIRTH! The tallest giraffe in the world is 19.2 feet tall and it’s heart alone 26 pounds!!!
