Using Advanced Search Techniques Start with keywords MUST - MIGHT - SHOULD NOT Query Strings Assist in organising a search (+,-,!) + between keywords shortens the results birds +eagle - between keywords won't search for the - keyword birds -eagle "" find an exact phrase within a website birds +"North America" -eagle

Boolean Operators AND, OR, NOT Use with keywords and must be capitalised AND = searches for both words florida AND aquarium OR = searches both words (either) at the same time florida OR aquarium NOT = do not include florida NOT aquarium

The Host Command The host command allows you to control your search. Use host: then any extension you want to limit the search to, such as "lung cancer" + host:gov
