Feedback on 1-1 Learning Institute Frankfurt, Sept.27 to 29, 2012.
2
General Feedback The conference was beneficial regardless of level of IT literacy All kinds of presentations were offered (from beginner to advanced level) The pre-conference was mainly classroom visits/observations and students presentations (K-12 but mostly LS) Good mix of key speakers and smaller, more laid-back presentations (from teachers)
3
FIS – Lower School FIS -LS has 1laptop to 4.6 students ratio. FIS is ideally aiming at 1-2. Current ratio is not enough when several classes of 1 grade need laptops at the same time Kindergarten classes are equipped a set Ipads (5 to 8) with specifically designed covers for (easier grip, reduced risk of damage)
4
Software/Apps Puppet pals: K-2, Ipad: to make simple animated movies Smartboard: k-10, laptops use of the software installed on students’ laptops for assessments, activities, etc
5
Software/Apps Notebinder, k-10, laptops: for electronic portfolios (photos, videos, documents, notes) Lexia, 1-5, ipads/laptops : reading program that helps target individual needs in reading as each student works independently on a device.
