By 2020 on any given weekday a conservative estimate of 6 million litres will pass through Walkerston plus increases in chemicals, explosives and gas. Other major concerns include the air quality particularly to the 813 school students + Teachers immediately adjacent to the road. In addition there is concern for the real risk of cargo being dislodged into Walkerston State School on the 90 ⁰ bend.
