Recommendation 6 Use historical data to segment asset screening times and improve the asset disposal process History of U&D transfers is not used to influence the current disposal process…..if particular FSCs are found to have little reuse history, GSA can reduce screening saving agencies time and money. Recommendation No. 6

Regulatory Framework Screening Timeframes Recommendation No. 6 §102-36.95—How long is excess personal property available for screening? The screening period for excess personal property is normally 21 days. GSA may extend or shorten the screening period in coordination with the holding agency. Screening timeframes for Government Property in the possession of contractors are the same as for regular excess (Federal Acquisition Regulation (48 CFR part 45.602-3). §102-37.45—How long is property available for donation screening? Entities authorized to participate in the donation program may screen property, concurrently with Federal agencies, as soon as the property is reported as excess up until the surplus release date. The screening period is normally 21 calendar Days....
