3 “What is Year-Round Schooling?” Year round schooling takes the required 180 days of instruction and breaks it up into periods of school and periods of breaks. For example, a student might go to school for 2 weeks and then have a 1 week break. This allows for a more “balanced calendar’. There are 2 types of year round schooling: Single Track- balanced calendar, shorter summer vacation, vacation days distributed throughout the year Multi-Track- prevents overcrowding by splitting teachers and students into groups and alternating the days that each group attends school (increases school capacity by 33%) Back to Main Menu
