6 Question 2 WHAT YEAR HOT SPRINGS BECAME A OFFICIAL NATIONAL PARK AND WHY

7 Question 2 Hot springs is a United States National park located in central Garland county Arkansas. Hot springs was originally established before the concept of a national park even existed. It at the time was considered a area of recreation. It was established by the US congress on April 20,1832. Hot springs is the first and oldest park created by 40 years! The hot spring water has been popularly believed for centuries to possess medicinal properties, and was a subject of legend among several Native American tribes. Since Hot Springs National Park is the oldest park maintained by the National Park Service, it was rightfully the first to receive its own US quarters in April 2010 as part of Americas the beautiful coin series.

10 Types of Rocks Explained Shale: Shale is a Sedimentary rock it forms from compaction of clay and silt and is a mud stone that stands out more because it is considered “laminated” which means it has thin layers. It is a mineral made of sand grains that may contain clay or silt to fill in gaps between sand particles. 14 Landforms Explains Mountains: When 2 plates collide or crash and form what we call mountains or even sometimes volcano's Cascades: A small waterfall Hot springs: Small body of water produced by ground water. Lake: Body of water smaller than a sea or ocean but bigger than a pond or puddle.

18 How was the park formed? It was formed because the water was heated from the rocks inside the earth creating what is now hot springs

20 Environmental issues Climate change will effect all life in hot springs. Freshwater issues because the hot springs are all salty sea water there is not a lot of freshwater.
