HL7 Int. Comm. Meeting - Toronto 1999 2 Work Done so far - 1 F Initial focus on V2.3.2. F Proposal to PAFM on “Internationalisation of Terms” at San Diego Meeting, 1998 has been incorporated into V2.3.2 Draft: "ERISA", "John Doe", etc. “Winter Meeting” vs “Summer Meeting”?

Participants: Holland, USA, Australia 3 joint teleconferences with V3 Datatypes. All enhancements are backward compatible. Meeting - Toronto 1999 4 Work Done so far - 3 PAFM Naming Work Group, cont… Proposal: – Expand "Middle name or initial" to allow multiple middle names. – To accommodate composite names the subcompo- nents "Family name from partner/spouse" and "Family name prefix from partner/spouse" were added. The "P" name type was obsoleted. – A "name context" subcomponent was added to allow the capture of the context in which a name type is used

HL7 Int. Comm. Meeting - Toronto 1999 5 Work Done so far - 4 PAFM Naming Work Group, cont… – A new name type "Nick Name/Call-me Name/Street Name" to HL7 Table 200; code is "N". The above proposal changes XPN to: & & (ST)> & ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ <name representation code (ID) ^ name context (CE)
