Bug vs. Feature A bug is a problem where the software deviates from expected behavior. The expected behavior of the person who developed the software. A feature is something new added to the software or something that changes expected behavior.

Do you get an ugly error? Most likely a bug, but read the error message just to be sure.

Does your request start with “It would be nice…” Most likely a feature

Has a feature available in previous releases suddenly disappeared? Most likely a bug, but the feature could have moved or now behaves differently.

When in doubt, tell network staff and let them sort it out.
