5. 5 SLST products definition and requirements Definition of analysis tools –A techincal meeting was held at TAS-F on 23rd November 2010 to review the analysis functions for the O-GPP (Ref S3-MN-TAF- SY-01677). The agreement was that TAS-F will provide the corresponding scatter plots for assessment by RAL –Thermal channels radiance input versus BT output + the LUT function –Solar channels, radiance input versus (reflectance * conversion factor to go to radiance included in VISCAL ADF). –For the cloud tests a TN has been supplied to TAS-F providing an outline procedure for validating the flags using AATSR donor datasets (S3-TN-RAL-SL-082). © 2010 RAL Space

6. 6 SLSTR Performance Budgets SY-5 System Calibration and Products Validation –RAL have provided inputs to the sections on needs for tools and data, and the uncertainty budgets. –The document has been issued for the System CDR and is under review. © 2010 RAL Space

7. 7 SLSTR Calibration System Architect SY-6 End-to-End Performance Budgets –RAL has supported TAS-F in the SLSTR CDR and has provided several RIDs on the performance. –Review of BBS CDR datapack is underway – There is a significant change to the conversion functions to be used for the BB thermometers. –Polynomial function(s) have been replaced by look-up tables –Documentation implies that corrections for Electronics units temperatures may be needed –Baseline assumption is no correction is necessary © 2010 RAL Space

8. 8 SLSTR Calibration System Architect –RAL are concerned that the performance analysis report contains a great deal of information making it difficult to assess where the real problems lie, or the significance of reported issues (e.g. straylight). –The current model is contained in an excel workbook that is extremely difficult to follow and does not appear to be under any configuration control. –RAL feel that an independent analysis of performance is required to confirm that the SG analysis of performance is correct. –Reproducing this spreadsheet in a different format to validate the instrument performance is a significant amount of work and not within the scope of current contract. © 2010 RAL Space
