2 Work as a professional Its an opportunity to demonstrate you have developed the performing arts industry professional practices

3 Learning outcome The ability to identify key concepts used in the definition and analysis of working with an outside agency and select examples of its practice Negotiate and sustain liaison with an outside agency/agreed project during all stages of the project

4 Learning outcome The ability to apply relevant techniques to the creation and presentation of an arts product suitable for the chosen project

5 Learning outcome the ability to evaluate and reflect upon the outcome of the above and your role in its creation

6 Reflective Effectively keep detailed records of your own work/role in liaison with the outside agency Project management production /performance role the creative development of your individual work

7 Reflect The journal should demonstrate you can reflect upon and evaluate your creative and intellectual journey in relation to the project. It needs to demonstrate you are reflecting upon how you managed the project the ideas, theory, drama practice and your own learning processes

8 The project management Refer to and use Skills for the workplace material on managing a project – (project description, aims, objectives – company structure- Forward plan- budget etc) The initial assignment and what targets/expectations do you hope to achieve in your work in this module. How important is setting up the group ethos in preparing for the project – comment on your own contribution and the general development of ideas

9 The community liaison The initial visit to the gallery and meeting the staff – what are the key points and expectations of the group Responding to the client brief /needs /expectations Relate this to the theory work we have covered in the main lectures on community arts theory– how are you striving /trying to use your creative ideas to respond to the needs of the task. How is this affecting your choices? The gallery – what are your assessments/ideas of how to respond to the site specific issues

10 Research process – Research the wider context of the project Poetry or variety entertainment ideas on the art work and the artists poets or performers How have you approached the different forms of research – books – internet – lectures– tours of the sites – video/DVD. ( add quotations- cite sources ) Comment on how the different sources explore and develop different ways of understanding the project.

11 The dramatic methods Comment on the dramatic – creative methods /exercises /discussions and how these are developing your ideas The devising process – the state of creative chaos – compromising – sharing ideas Shaping the material Did you meet your own creative challenges

12 Evaluate the final performances  This need to be in relation to the quality of the liaison  Did you produce a product that fulfilled the needs and expectations of Sheffield Museums Trust  Did you create a successful evening for the audience  Was the venue owner happy with the way you organized the event/ cleared away /publicity of the product/
