Building Homes A few men went on land to explore, find fresh food People continued to live on the Mayflower while the men built homes on a hill they called Plymouth. The Wampanoag Indians were careful to watch the Pilgrims to see what they wanted in their land. Squanto was an Indian who lived with the Wampanoag and had learned to speak English
