Introduction The introduction of a Single European Currency (The Euro) was the biggest step towards creating a united Europe. The Euro was introduced On 1 st January 2002 for most countries in the EU. (Not the UK)

Reasons for Joining the Euro You can travel to any country that has the Euro and use the same currency. You do not have to work out exchange rates. Other large multi-cultural countries have a single currency and do very well. E.g THE USA

Reasons for Not Joining the Euro The UK will still control the economy Companies do not know what to charge customers. Prices will rise if the Euro is introduced. The Euro will lead to the demise of the UK as a Nation ‘Wait n See’ The Euro might be a disaster. The UK is doing the right thing
