TELECOMMUNICATIONS - Network Services RATE CHANGES - NETWORK SERVICES FY99-FY04No change in rate ($6.25 per line) FY05Increased rate by $.75 ($7.00 per line) FY06No change in rate FY07Increase rate by $1.50 ($8.50 per line)* *New rate includes WiFi for faculty & staff; Guest WiFi services will be offered for a fee. We are moving toward a Per-Port funding model for network services. This change will not occur overnight. We will work with you to audit your accounts as the project progresses. New object code, 8401070, has been created to track network charges.

FUNDING CENTRAL IT - Administrative IT Fees RATES: Current Rate: $90 / FTE Proposed Rate:$99 / FTE A significant portion (57%) of the Administrative IT fee is dedicated to pay for campus-wide software licenses. The proposed increase is based on the portion of the IT fee that is directly attributable to software licensing costs.

5. CENTRAL IT SERVICES - Storage Services CENTRAL EXCHANGE: Email File Storage Accounts available to all UAB employees Each user receives 100 Megabytes (100MB) of storage space WHAT IS THE COST? There is no charge for this service Additional storage is available in 500MB increments at rate of $31 per year UABFILE: Personal File Storage Accounts available to all UAB employees Each user receives 1 Gigabyte (1GB) of storage space WHAT IS THE COST? There is no charge for this service Additional storage is available at rate of $69/GB per year WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS? Enhanced Data Security Sensitive or important data no longer stored on desktop Data backed up each night Accidentally deleted data can be restored up to 90 days after the fact
