2.  It is the responsibility of the setting to provide you with the protective clothing and equipment that you need to carry out your duties in a way that keeps you and others safe from risk of infection and the spread of infection.

3.  Disposable non-powdered vinyl or latex-free CE-marked gloves  Disposable plastic aprons  Goggles for use if there is a risk of splashing to the face

4.  P.P.C. must be used under the following circumstances –  When changing a nappy  Taking children to the toilet  Dealing with a child who is bleeding or vomiting  Clearing up spillages of bodily fluids  Washing soiled items

5.  Ensure you use a fresh apron and pair of gloves for each situation  Wash your hands before you put on your gloves and apron  Remove the PPC as soon as you have finished dealing with the situation you were wearing it for  Ensure you dispose of the PPC in the correct way in the appropriate waste bin  Wash your hands again once you have taken the PPC off
