2. Summary Ever wondered how “magnification” was born? Well, in this presentation one can see who exactly invented the microscope, how it works, and when the magnificent tool came about.

3. Founders of The Microscope Digges of England and Hans and Zcharias Janssen of Holland were the first pioneers in the history of the microscope. Antony Van Leeuwenhoek was the first man to make and use a real microscope.

4. What? When? How? The light microscope Discovered in 1674 Leeuwenhoek was working one day as a glass grounder and he found out that by placing glass lenses at certain distances he could enlarge objects.

5. Using a Microscope First a slide containing an organism is placed on the stage. According to the size of the organism, select the proper objective lens. Place the eye over the eyepiece. Later, commence focusing with the coarse focus, then the fine focus until you are able to see the organism properly.

6. Comments Many objects too small to be seen with the unaided eye can be viewed through a microscope. The development of the microscope greatly affected human life. Before it was invented, little was known about tiny creatures, bacteria, and viruses. Today the microscope is widely used by a variety of scientists around the world.
