The Global Resilience Summit 2016 – Delivering City & Corporate Resilience – is organised by London First and builds on the ground established by the successful Summit of 2015. For the second year, the Summit strives to promote an international approach to the subject by bringing together some of the world’s top thinkers and players to look over the horizon. The aim of the Global Resilience Summit 2016 is to advance the understanding, leadership and benchmarking of resilience in major cities like London. It will focus on the key issues of organisational, reputational and digital resilience that demand Board-level attention in managing long-term risks from shocks and stresses in both communities and corporates. The outcomes will help senior management in the public and private sectors drive resilience forward for the benefit of all. I look forward to meeting you in London in October. A word from Sir David Veness CBE QPM Sir David Veness CBE QPM Chair, Advisory Board, Security & Resilience Network, London First

Agenda for 2016 This year the Global Resilience Summit provides an insight on what it takes to lead and deliver resilience in organisations whether large or small, public or private, corporate or communal. The strategic need to create the right principles, culture and behaviours for resilience to prosper places a leadership obligation on those in senior management. At the same time, the operational demands require a robust application by managers based on a clear understanding of what resilience delivers beyond risk awareness, business continuity and safety measures. The Summit will examine the ways to address this state of affairs by having 26 senior and skilled speakers address the fundamental skills required to lead a resiliency programme in a city or organisation. Speakers will consider best practice and thought leadership on resilience to help executives who advise Boards and sit on senior management teams. It will discuss ways of building community and corporate resilience around business centres and retail hubs, especially with the current terrorist threat. Furthermore, it will review advice on maintaining trust and reputation in the face of urban challenges, and in particular cyber attacks. The Summit brings to the attention of a professional audience the work of London First and its international partners on how to make cities safer, more secure and more resilient. This a unique occasion to listen, learn and network on a subject of global importance.
