Numbers Spell out numbers of one or two or those that begin a sentence. Use figures for numbers that require more than two words to spell out. Example: (incorrect): It’s been 8 years since I visited Peru. (Correct): It’s been eight years since I visited Peru. Or, Example : (incorrect): My cousin was 28 when she first worked. (correct): My cousin was twenty-eight when she first worked.

Abbreviations Use standard abbreviations for tittles immediately before and after proper names.
