Bellwork – 09/03/15 Sketch a graph of position vs. time for when the meter stick was falling in your first lab assignment
2
Bellwork – 08/26/15 How many times would you repeat a measurement in an experiment? As many times as is needed to be confident in your data, and to get consistent values. Your experiment has to be repeatable for someone else.
3
Bellwork – 09/03/15 Sketch a diagram with an object in free-fall and show all the forces acting on the object.
4
AP Physics – Reaction Time Lab Objective : I will test out my reaction time while reviewing some basic physics. Report due ( composition book ) : 9/14/15
5
Procedure Find a partner ( form a group of 2 ) – list names in report Grab 1 meter stick Partner holds meter stick while you are ready to grab it Partner drops meter stick vertically / you grab it Record amount of drop in cm – measure to tenths Repeat drop 5 times Switch roles More detail should be provided than this
6
Data Table with height values from 5 reps This lab is just about your data and nobody else’s
7
Conclusions Questions for Reaction Time Lab: – Describe in detail any sources of error ( need more detail than just “human error” ) – Were any of your 5 data values very different than the others? If so, what would/could you do about it? – Convert your drop heights into actual times – Draw two free body diagrams: for the moment your partner was holding the meter stick and during the time the meter stick was in free fall
