2 Indroduction Château Haut-Brion is a French wine, rated a Premier Cru Classé (First Growth), produced in Talence just outside the city of Bordeaux. It differs from the other wines on the list in its geographic location in the north of the wine-growing region of Graves.

3 Indroduction Of the five first growths, it is the only wine with the Pessac-Léognan appellation and is in some sense the ancestor of a classification that remains the benchmark to this day.

7 Château Haut-Brion-1999 Lovely color, a handsome dark red, both lively and young. The nose gives a strong impression of softness and harmony.

8 Château Haut-Brion-1999 All the aromatic elements are perfectly proportioned: the tinge of woody vanilla, the sweetness of lightly cooked caramel, the slight aggressiveness of liquorish, red and black berries, mulberry, and cherry all meld into a perfect balance.

9 Château Haut-Brion Blanc- 1969 This wine has a golden yellow color leaning towards orange. The nose is unusually complex with a mixture of white flowers, apricot and honey.

10 Château Haut-Brion Blanc- 1969 Despite its age, the wine still keeps some freshness thanks to a marked acidity which guarantees this vintage’s longevity.

11 Château Bahans Haut-Brion- 1997 Lovely rich color. On the nose, a gentle softness and the sensation of ripe fruit are trimmed in discreet oak notes. The first impression on the palate is the wine’s perfect balance.

12 Château Bahans Haut-Brion- 1997 The immense tannins assert their presence but the smoke and burnt aromas typical of Graves wine from Pessac give way progressively to very soft and elegant nuances underpinned by a slight bitterness that is both unobtrusive and mellow.
