What is DSLR? Digital single-lens reflex cameras (also called digital SLR or DSLR) are digital cameras combining the optics and the mechanisms of a single-lens reflex camera with a digital imaging sensor, as opposed to photographic film.

The reflex design scheme is the primary difference between a DSLR and other digital cameras. In the reflex design, light travels through the lens, then to a mirror that alternates to send the image to viewfinder.

History Who invented DSLR cameras? In 1969 Willard S. Boyle and George E. Smith invented the first successful imaging technology using a digital sensor, a CCD (Charge-Coupled Device). CCD would allow the rapid development of digital photography. Willard S. Boyle George E. Smith

For their contribution to digital photography Boyle and Smith were awarded the Nobel Prize for In 1975 Kodak engineer Steven Sasson invented the first digital still camera, which used a Fairchild 100×100 pixel CCD. CCD

Evolution of cameras YearCameraDescription 1500 Camera Obscura The first pinhole camera was invented by Alhazen (Ibn Al-Haytham). 1839 Daguerreotype Camera Announced by the French Academy of Sciences. One of these inventions is now the world’s most expensive cameras. 1859 Panoramic camera The panoramic camera patented by Thomas Sutton. 1900Brownie First mass-marketed camera the Brownie was presented by Eastman. It was on sale until 1960s. 2005 Canon Digital EOS 5D The Canon EOS 5D is launched. This is first consumer-priced full- frame digital SLR with a 24x36mm CMOS sensor.

Conclusion Photography nowadays is somewhat considered to be a kind of art. There is no art if there is no materials to use on. DSLR cameras are the materials used by artists of photography (also called photographers).
