2  Historically, the City has received periodic complaints regarding the parking of RV and boats on residential lots  Looked at code inconsistencies and compared parking regs with other WA cities.  Developed proposed code language update Presentation overview and background

3  Inconsistent code language in Title 17.290 and Title 20.945.290 regarding parking in the driveway area that extends into the front yard setback.  Administrative interpretation was enacted on November 5, 2014 by Planning Official which addresses inconsistent code language between Title 17 and Title 20. 5 Change Title 20 Section 20.945.040 to the following: D. Location. Parking spaces shall not be permitted in any setback except as otherwise specified in this title. For single-family and duplex dwellings, passenger vehicle parking in excess of required parking is permitted in the front yard setback provided it is: located on a legally established driveway; Parking in the front yard setback otherwise allowed by this Chapter shall not include the storage of motor homes, trailers or recreational vehicles, including boats, unless located on a legally established driveway. Parking of motor homes, trailers, recreational vehicles and boats is allowed in one side or rear setback on an impervious surface and served by a paved driveway. Such parking must be screened from the street and adjoining properties by a 6’ sight obscuring fence or hedge. Proposed Update Language for Title 20
