Bound feet could be also called “Lotus Feet” or “Lily Feet.”
Foot Binding was introduced in the Sung Dynasty ( AD).

Chinese Foot binding was to look like the woman was skimming over golden lilies.
Europeans invented high heels which did the same thing without binding their feet. (known as 21st century western foot binding)

The arch of the foot was bowed to make the foot shorter.
The four smaller toes were broken so they could go underneath the foot. Normal foot X-ray – Blue Lines Bound foot X-ray – Red Lines
