2 SB 70 2007- 08 Dollars not approved for distribution yet. Focus of RFA: –Involve CalPass to track student success –Regional Approach to HS/ROP Programs –Continuing role of Community Colleges

3 SB 70 Cont. Faculty Internships –Focus on faculty –Expose faculty to world of work –Counselors not included due to lack of interest –Money to 10 Regional Consortium –Regional Consortium Chair/designee and County Office of Education will select Mini Grant receipients

4 SB 70 Intent Improve linkages and Career & Technical Education (CTE) education pathways between high schools and community colleges.

5 SB 70 Intent Cont. 1.Expanding certificate programs (EWDP Programs) 2.Aligning existing CTE Programs between HS and CC. 3.Integration of Business & Emerging Industries into existing CTE & EWDP Programs. 4.Creating new articulated courses between HS and CC and 4 Yr Colleges

6 SB 70 Cont. 5.Accelerating education/training programs utilizing less traditional methodology. 6.Exploring use of CTE models that integrate coursework and internships. 7.Improve quality of career exploration & outreach materials.
