Vocabulary Population density- The number of people living per square mile. Population Distribution- The pattern of where people live. Climate - the weather conditions prevailing in an area over a long period. Vegetation- Plants found in a particular area. Landscape- all the visible features of an area of countryside or land Examples- Mountains, Lakes, vegetation, buildings. SOL WG.3b

How does the regional landscape reflect the physical environment? The Regional landscape can reflect the physical environment in two ways. 1. Climate affects types of natural vegetation. Ex: Cold climate=coniferous trees. Desert climate= cacti 2. Landforms affect transportation, population distribution, and the locations of cities. SOL WG.3b

How does the regional landscape reflect the characteristics of the inhabitants? Regional landscapes are influenced by the cultural, economic, and political characteristics of their inhabitants. Examples: 1. Religious Buildings 2. Dwellings 3. Statues or monuments of local, global, and political significance. SOL WG.3b
