THE IMPORTANCE OF PLAY For Children For Adults

Through playful experiences children develop: Emotional Skills develop spending time with you and others. Social Skills are mastered by following directions, taking turns, sharing and abiding by rules. Physical Skills excel as children learn to reach, crawl, walk, run, climb, jump, throw, catch, and balance. Fine-motor Skills grow manipulate objects, toys, books, crayons, scissors, and pencils. Language Skills mature as children interact using words as they play with toys and engage in activities. Critical Thinking Skills through play encourage problem solving; helps learn cause and effect, quantities, or spatial relationships. Creativity and Imagination Blossoms as children pretend to be doctors, teachers, parents, or firefighters. Play is how young children learn best They learn that life is full of possibilities and opportunities

THE IMPORTANCE OF PLAY FOR ADULTS Our society tends to dismiss play for adults. We look upon Play as unproductive, even a guilty pleasure. When we reach adulthood, it’s time to get serious. There is no time to play. Yet we pay millions of dollars to see competitive play.. Play is just as important for adults as it is for kids. Play brings joy. It is essential for problem solving, creativity and relationships.
