KUEN Sister Station to KUED Channel 7 Supports Higher Education delivered classes Digital conversion completed in 2002 Translators deliver signal throughout the state of Utah UEN exploring the use of the expanded digital signal to deliver some data traffic

Data WAN and Internet Network Currently in the middle of a statewide upgrade to Ethernet Circuits Current Internet Capacity is 900 Mbps Upgrading I2 connection from OC-3 to OC- 12 Participant in National Lambda Rail as a Front Range GigaPop (FRGP) member Participant with CENIC, FRGP, the State of Nevada and Northwest GigaPoP in the Western Lights consortium

EdNet Distance Education Network Operational for the past 25 years Developed to enable many-to-many connectivity Delivers thousands of educational sessions each year to tens of thousands of students Currently going through a massive upgrade from analog to digital endpoints and backbone

UENSS Network Collaborative effort between Utah State University and UEN 200+ classrooms in Utah equipped to receive satellite delivered courses IP Telephony used for the past 6 years to deliver return audio for one-way video satellite transmission

UEN Ethernet Upgrade First Backbone Ethernet links turned up in Q1 2002 First “Last Mile” access circuits turned up on Q3 2002 Conversion of Backbone to Optical Lambda services in November 2003 Ethernet Lambda installation in backbone - August 2004

Ethernet Upgrade Current Status Projects completed with 6 vendors and 4 community networks 75% of all District Offices connected 80% of Higher Education main campus locations connected 45% of all school locations connected RFP evaluation completed in January 2005 to connect the remaining schools over the next 2-3 years
