51
5. Activation Key 5-1 The type of Activation Key Trial mode
UC Pro server has pre-installed activation keys for 25users and 45days period from installation. So, customers can use UC Pro environment without additional Activation Keys for 45days up to 25 users. Temporary AK “Temporary AK” means Activation Key for valid for a specific number of users, a maximum period of 120 days which starts from outputting and dedicated to a specific Sales Partner or Customer whose name has to be declared in the specific purchase order.
52
5. Activation Key 5-2 KX-UCPAxxxxW (User AK)
“User” AK allows customer (UC Pro clients) to login to UC Pro Server and use UC functions. The number of “User” AK (e.g. In the case of KX-UCPA0005W, the number of user is 5) means the number of simultaneous login users. UC Pro Server User F KX-UCPA0005W Max.5 simultaneous login users Unable to Login ① ⑤ Login User A Login ② User E Login ③ ④ Login User B User D Login User C
53
5. Activation Key 5-3 Relationship between the user and login ID
UC Pro Server identifies user by Login ID. This means that if a user login to UC Pro Server using multiple PCs, the number of user is counted as “one user”. User A UC Pro Server Login using Login ID “ebe” Login using Login ID “ebe” The number of user is “one”.
54
5. Activation Key 5-4 Each status on UC Pro Server
UC Pro Server Administrator screen Amount column - Installed AK (Upper limit) Used column - Current usage - User - Device - Line
55
5. Activation Key 5-5 What are “User”, “Device” and “Line”
UC Pro Server has three types of resource that limits customers to access to UC Pro Server, And these resources are controlled by installed AK (KX-UCPAxxxxW). Definition of terms - User : A person who login to UC Pro Server. Identified by Login ID - Device : Terminal on which UC Pro Client (Windows, Mac, Mobile) runs, such as Windows PC, Mac PC, Smart Phone and Tablet - Line : Telephony equipment that UC Pro Client (Windows, Mac, Mobile) controls, such as PBX extension
56
5. Activation Key 5-5 What are “User”, “Device” and “Line”
1 User AK includes “Device” resource and “Line” resource as follows; - 1 User (Login ID) - 2 Devices - 1 Line This is because we suppose following typical usage for each user; Inside Office Outside Office UC Pro Server One Login ID Desk PC Mobile Two devices Paired PBX extension One Line
57
5. Activation Key 5-6 Resource condition of “User”, “Device” and “Line” Each resource is controlled by total amount on UC Pro Server. - User “User” resource limits the number of simultaneous login users. Login ID can be registered to UC Pro Server even if the amount exceeds the upper limit. - Device “Device” resource limits the number of simultaneous using devices. When users login to UC Pro Server, device will be registered to UC Pro Server. For example, users can use three or more devices(PC, Smartphone, Tablet, etc.) unless total amount of current usage does not exceed the upper limit. In the case that 25 user AK is installed (upper limit of device is 50), if 10 users each are using 5 devices, current usage is 50. So, 11th. user can not login to UC Pro Server because the user can not use any device. - Line “Line” resource limits the number of telephony equipment (e.g. PBX extension) UC Pro Server and ECSTA for UC Pro controls (monitors). Even if the PBX extension is not paired with users, once the PBX extension is registered to UC Pro Server and ECSTA for UC Pro, current “Line” resource increases.
