3 Paleolithic Age 2 million years ago until 8000 B.C.E.
Hunters and Gatherers Went from place to place looking for animals to hunt and plants to gather. Took shelter in caves. Simple tools

4 Developments Although tools were being made and fire was being used….LANGUAGE was the most important development during this time period. WHY???? Relationships Made hunting easier Solve issues of how to distribute food

6 Neolithic Age Began around 8000 B.C.E and ended about 3000 B.C.E.
Thought to have begun in Southwest Asia. Stones were polished and sharpened to make more advanced tools such as drills and saws. Ended when tools started being made from metal

7 Plants Plants began growing in certain areas
Barley and Wheat are some examples People began to settle near where they found the plants People soon learned that they could grow their own crops This is known as the Neolithic Revolution. Eventually taught themselves how to grow only the sweetest fruits and biggest grains.

8 Animals Domestication became extremely important
People no longer had to hunt their food Kept goats and sheep for milk, food, and wool. Larger animals were used for carrying loads of goods or in farming.

9 Early Farming Society

10 Beginning of Towns How did towns start???
As People began growing their own food and raising their own animals, we began to see permanent shelters Population grew Communities turned into towns.
