3. The important news An Angel called Gabriel told Mary and Joseph that they were having a baby called Jesus.

4. The journey to Bethlehem Mary and Joseph had to travel from Nazareth to Bethlehem to be counted. When they got there all the inns, which are like hotels, were already full.

5. The friendly inn keeper After they had tried every inn in Bethlehem they realised that there was one final inn keeper that they had forgotten to ask!

6. Finally they had a space The inn keeper said that he was already full but there was a space in the old, smelly stable. Thankfully, Mary and Joseph went into the stable.

7. They had the baby When Mary had settled in, she finally had the baby, who she named Jesus as the angel had requested !

8. The bright star That evening a bright star shone on some shepherds to tell them a king had been born in Bethlehem. The star also shone on some wise-men telling them the same message.

9. They came to see the baby After the wise men and the shepherds had travelled to Bethlehem they found the new baby.

10. The gifts The wise men bought gifts of gold, myrrh and frankincense.

11. The shepherds The shepherds came to see baby Jesus.
