Whose Business is it how I live?

1 Thessalonians 4:10-12, “But we urge you, brethren, that you increase more and more; that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing.”

It’s God’s Business Everything is His business
We cannot hide from Him – Heb. 4:13, 1 Cor. 4:5 Judged by Him – Ac. 17:31, 2 Thess. 1:8 1 Cor. 6:20

It’s Christ’s Business
He will be there at judgment – 2 Cor. 5:10, Jn. 12:28 1 Cor. 6: We are members of Christ Mark 8:38 – Ashamed of Him?

It’s the Spirit’s Business
The Bible the product of His work – 1 Cor. 2:10-13, Eph. 3:3-5 When we reject His word, He is grieved - Eph. 4:30 1 Pet. 4: Does His Spirit rest upon you?

It’s the Church’s Business
Our conduct affects our brethren – 1 Cor. 12:26, Rom. 2:24, etc. Elders have responsibilities and concerns – Heb. 13:17, Ac. 20:28 Concerning discipline – 1 Cor. 5:11-13, 2 Thess. 3:6

It’s my Brethren’s Business
When we are overtaken in sin – Gal. 6:1-2, Matt. 18:15-17 How does my conduct affect my brother's conduct? 1 Cor. 8:9-13 If your brethren care about you they will come to you.

It’s my Neighbor’s Business
We ARE an influence – 1 Thess. 4:12, Matt. 5:16 Concerning the government – Rom. 13:1-5

It’s my Family’s Business
WE have roles in the family – Col. 3:18-21, 1 Tim. 5:8 Raising children involves correcting them Prov. 13:24 If we are failing in our roles, should there be concerns?

It’s YOUR Business The bottom line! Are you taking care of YOUR business? 1 Thess. 4:11 – The context. Be busying taking care of yourself and others will not need to be concerned. Gal. 6:3-5, 2 Cor. 13:5
