I Corinthians 2:9-12 (NIV) However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"— but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
5
I Corinthians 2:9-12 (NIV)... No one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.
6
There are four ways that God uses the Holy Spirit to speak to us:
7
1.The Bible
8
The Bible is both the foundation and the lens by which the other ways that God speaks to us should be both built upon and interpreted. All other manners in which God speaks to us begin with the revelation of God’s character, actions, and spoken word as found in the Bible.
9
Joshua 1:5b (NIV) As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.
10
Philippians 1:6 (NIV)... he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
11
Matthew 16:18 (NIV)... and I will build my church and the Gates of Hades will not overcome it.
12
Deuteronomy 5:32-33 (NIV) So be careful to do what the LORD your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. Walk in all the way that the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper....
13
Isaiah 43:2 (NLT) When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.
14
There are four ways that God uses the Holy Spirit to speak to us: 1.The Bible 2.Prayer
15
God speaks to us through prayer. “The first thing to do as you seek God’s will is to deny yourself.” Experiencing God, p. 176 Matthew 6:10 (NIV) “... your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” James 4:3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives...
16
Blackaby on Prayer Here’s the reality: You can’t even imagine a prayer that comes close to what God wants to give you. If God wants to grant you more than you are asking, would you rather have what you are requesting or what God wants to give?
17
Blackaby on Prayer Only the Spirit of God knows what God purposes in your life. So let God give you all He wants to give. p.178 Experiencing God

If we are praying for something that is not from God, then as soon as we begun to murmur, the words “I want to do this,” or “I need this,” we begin to (self)-limit the astonishing plans God has for our life.
