From Black Boy by Richard Wright: p. 968 Dialectical Journal Find a quote that best describes Richard’s character. How do you expect his character will evolve throughout the text? Find a quote that reveals the nature of his relationship to the adults in his life? How does this affect him? What details does Wright use to make the reader feel both his physical and emotional hunger? Cite examples of the recurring themes of trust and bitterness that are used throughout the text. What event best reveal Richard’s trust turning to bitterness? Read the last paragraph closely.
