4 ACOE COASTAL CONSISTENCY DETERMINATION SANTA ROSA CREEK THE ACOE IS ASKING YOU TO RISK PUBLIC PROPERTY FOR NO GOOD REASON

5 ACOE COASTAL CONSISTENCY DETERMINATION SANTA ROSA CREEK NATURAL PRESERVE DO NOT RISK OUR BEACHES FOR USELESS DATA 1.“Existing site data and data expected from the proposed activities are not sufficient to determine site feasibility.” 2. “Studies Provide Inadequate Information to Determine the Effects of Water Withdrawals on the Estuary.” 3.“Site Characteristics Do Not Lend Themselves to the Corps’ Proposed Modeling Approach.” 4.“The Proposed Modeling Is Not Adequate to Characterize The Effects of the Proposed Drawdown on the Estuary.” 5.“Studies Provide Inadequate Information To Determine Whether Water Withdrawals or Discharges Will Mobilize Mercury or Methylmercury Into the Environment.” 6.“Concerns Remain about Information Inadequacy.”

6 Recommendations Deny Consistency Determination – inconsistent with chapter 3 of the Coastal Act Deny CD – lack of purpose and objective Deny CD – project is fundamentally inconsistent with site’s natural resource and recreational values as well as its legal status as a State Park Beach, State Marine Park and National Marine Sanctuary Advise ACOE that this project has been piecemealed in violation of NEPA and CEQA from the full scale desalination project currently undergoing design and an EIR Advise ACOE that the Cambria Services District is the actual lead agent and they are the contractor/vendor and the project requires a Coastal Development permit not a Consistency Determination.
